CHRISTIAN DAKE, OWNER

A botanist with a background in forestry, organic farming, and viticulture, Christian Dake grew up in Napa Valley, California. After working in vineyard management, Christian attended Humboldt State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in botany, then returned to Napa to create farms and gardens for restaurants and wineries. One of Christian's proudest accomplishments involved developing the 6-acre farm and showcase gardens for the Culinary Insititute of America at Greystone. Christian has incorporated living soil science into his projects as a sponsored farmer of Biologic Systems. He has honed his utilization of soil biology and land revitalization into an efficient process of soil tests, soil building, and biology inoculation and feeding, in projects of all sizes.

Constantly in nature and immersed in the study of ecosystems, a winter desert trip in 2014 became extended and found Christian relocating to Austin. For the last 5 years he has concentrated on aesthetics of land design, particularly in the way he emulates natural ecosystems with plants. Christian's understanding of plants in their natural habitats enables

Dake Land Design to achieve aesthetically pleasing and thriving landscapes.
When he's not working, you will find Christian enjoying the outdoors with his wife and two sons.
