Hubbard Ranch

The Hubbard Ranch, passed down through six generations, recently reimagined its landscape to better embrace the home and its legacy. A focus was the pool area, where a modern outdoor kitchen of sandstone and oiled cedar now invites family gatherings. A native stone patio frames the pool, creating a seamless connection to the land.

By the pool, a fire pit built from Bastrop sandstone offers warmth for nights spent under the stars. Mexican Feather Grass sways gently nearby, adding a touch of the West Texas plains.

At the front of the house, a cedar pergola, soaked in rosewood oil, offers shade and renewal to a space unused for fifty years. Climbing roses from the family’s past intertwine with Dwarf Palmettos, bringing new life to the home’s entrance.
Kim Kibby, steward of the ranch’s 170-year history of raising cattle and horses, sought a design that would honor the past while preparing the homestead for the future. The ranch now reflects her values and dreams, offering a space for her family to gather, stargaze, and carry forward the ranch's story.
